Artist History
Designed to inspire positive imagination, through exiting vocals, guitar and keyboard compositions. This music is hardly soft, with tranqualizing riffs and mesmerizing rythms, up-tempo beats and flaring solos. The vocals are emotional yet soothing.
Influenced by my grandmother( the late Hilda Rogers ), who frequently played piano and sang hymns to the neighborhood children. I began playing piano at an early age, and started learning guitar as a young teenager. I formed a garage band, which after many adolescent distractions broke up.
I studied music theory/harmony, and continued to write and perform my own music. I did weddings for a short time, playing piano and organ piece's, including the bridal march. Although I've always wanted to be in a successful band, one of my favorite things to do, is to perform unpluged, singing and playing with an acoustic guitar or piano.
While I was young, I was lucky to be exposed to a large vocabulary of music. My family, who is of Jamaican/European descent, owned alot of original calypso and un-comercialized reggae music, before it ever became popular in the US.
We listened to exotic music, such as Bert Kaemfert's The Magic Music Of Far Away Places, Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass, New Orleans Jazz and Soulful Strings ( from the Coral label ). We loved all kinds of jazz, rock and soul artist's. We listened to just about everybody, from Aretha Franklin to Frank Zappa.
I was motivated by artist's such as Chicago, Steely Dan, Kiss, Aero |
