Artist description
Dubbed a "musical tsunami" and "food for the soul" by Yahoo! Internet Life, the Redundant Steaks were the unquestioned lo-fi art-rock Scando-pop kings of the south-of-the-Midway musical scene at the University of Chicago in the late eighties.
They pioneered their own, unique performance idiom, which was best exemplified by the menacing, guitar-wielding figure of Bobo the Clown, and by the frenzied clash of
inflatable titans during live performances of Petrified Vomit. Eclectic, intelligent, and sublimely psycho, the Steaks have more than earned their reputation as "the most baffling band in America." |

Artist History
The Redundant Steaks coalesced in April 1989 at the University of Chicago. They brought beauty and terror into the lives of those fortunate enough to experience their live performances.
Three albums later, they played their final gig at the 1990 Festival of the Arts, before dispersing into the upper echelons of academia, business, and the government.
A reunion is ever imminent. Consider yourself warned. |
