Artist description
Shimera is Metal. Based in Tampa, FL, this trio of psychocharged musicians can jam the stage like there's no tomorrow. Shimera's sound will make you feel like you jumped back onto the Razor's Edge of Metal and slid right back to its early years! But don't think of them in terms of "Motorhead" nostalgia. Shimera's groove is always fresh & ready to rend & tear your mind! |

Press Reviews
This time, a picture really is worth a thousand words. Except, we only get about 150 or so to let you in on the brutality about this doom metal band. Just to set the scene for you, guitarist Seaton is a very imposing-looking gentleman, bald head & beaded beard, customary black attire with thigh-high jack boots, with a pentagram/devil's fork type design painted red over his whole noggin. He ain't f**king around, jack. And neither is this band, a mix of thrashy speed metal during one instant, some peculiar riffing to throw things off-kilter, then scurving a goth vibe next verse. While a lot of newbreed gloomers are eager to confound by selfishly switching between different genres, Shimera have discovered a mutual bond (it's called intensity), while applying a little kick-ass in the process (thanks to Gentry's very physical power drumming-not all that jittery drum machine sounding s**t). Hey, we'll leave all the interpretation of lyrical content here up to you-anyone that'll tackle "The Rotting of Christ" and "Raping of Children" knows what they're in for...but prepare for a metal bludgeoning like no other...FOCUS Magazine |
