Press Reviews
"required listening for any self-respecting home recording artist...astonishing talent and originality" - Craig Conley, Gajoob.com ..... "Bluesy Hard Bop soloing, Gospel-influenced melodies, and juicy electric organ recall classic '60s soul-jazz; Pike's solos are effusive, verbose, and virtuosic." - Noah Enelow, Listen.com ..... "Great sax sounds...First time I ever heard the sax through a wah wah...great job with the production." - Mike Bolenbach, Founder of IDN (Independent Distribution Network) ..... "Inventive experimentation, jazz grooves and poetry from the edge...Pike plays all the instruments on the album...and he does a great job on all of them." - Michael Finnegan, In The Mix magazine ..."Multi-instrumentalist/songwriter Kevin Pike's CD Microjazz shows the artist's impressive skills on sax, woodwinds, keyboards, and guitar. Highlights are the brassy, syncopated "BQCT Blues," the mellow, sax-led "Vale," and the fun-filled "Wednesday Night Boogie." – Ed Hogan, Illinois Entertainer |
