Artist description
An all-original collective sound generated by the mismatched quintet
has been compared to everything from Dave Matthew's to Rusted Root. To pigeonhole,
Hawthorne is probably an alternative band, but its roots are clearly set in soil comprised of
everything from Zeppelin to Gordon Lightfoot to Black Sabbath. |

Artist History
Hawthorne is the result of several late-night tequila-induced bull sessions during which
singer/songwriter Mike Faulkingham lamented his lack of creative outlet to frustrated
bartender/drummer Jason Mcphee, who found Faulkingham: a. too talkative, b. slightly
inebriated, and c. somewhat interesting, although rarely so.
Against his better judgement, Mcphee agreed to join Faulkingham, having read and re-read his
Danielle Steele collection several times. Soon, Faulkingham had contracted the services of DJ
Schauf, whose head still rattles from his days in Vicious Cycle, to play bass and because he had a
cool van. This triumvirate then appealed to guitarist Alan Kane, because he seemed bored, had a
nice guitar, and spent way too much time on questionable web sites.
Gregg Palermino was the last member to be recruited. Actually, no one can remember recruiting
him, but he seems to have a good time playing percussion and trumpet, and hell, he's fun to
watch. |
