Artist History
The group formed in 1993, comprised of original members, singer/song-writer Paul Narciso & Bassist Dave Smith known to many mainly as "Fuel" through their full length album "sleeping Awake" released in 1995 and consistent touring into 1996. The music press fancied the release, comparing the band to the likes of internationally known acts such as Live and the Tragically Hip to name a few. The band also opened for Sony recording artists "Junk House", headlined an outdoor festival in Quebec City in front of two thousand and showcased at industry events including "Canadian Music Week" and "NXNE".
The band was busy well into 1996 being courted by various major labels in Canada. In the summer of '96' the band parted ways with its' guitarist and looking forward to a fresh start. Only to have their progress slowed down by a battle for the name "Fuel", as a US outfit of the same name emerged out of Pennsylvania. After months of discussion and the signing of the other band to 550 Music in the states, the band dropped the name "Fuel" and continued to work under "Staid" for the time being. As the band held numerous auditions for guitarists, they came across Sylvain Gareau, whom auditioned for the band. Result! His pulsating guitar sound and vocal ability was exactly what the band was looking for!
With the unit in place the band entered the studio to
begin recording new material. During the mixing
sessions the band came up with the name Electrolite
and having recorded enough material for a full
length the band decided to introduce themselves
to the music industry with a dazzling five song EP.
Recorded by engineer Claus Frostell (Moist, David Usher...)
And mastered by producer/engineer Simon Pressey, displays
that Electrolite manages to attract professionals and will
continue to do so in the future, as they are set to deliver
their music to a national and international music audience.
