Artist description Supermagnet are a Belfast based band, who have been on the go for about a year, and after a lot of exhausting lying around, have recorded the first proper helping of their favourite home-grown tracks. Recorded in their own studio, the raw and authentic sound is a deliberate attempt to capture a live performance without sacrificing quality. The line up is: Andrew Gawn (guitar, vocal), Paul Pierce (drums), Dan Tindall (guitar, vocal), and Mark Walsh (bass). The songs are all written and arranged by the band. Their live performances have included The Menagerie and The Duke of York in Belfast; previous recorded efforts have received good airplay on local radio. Influenced by the more down-home musical aspects of blues, rock‚n‚roll, and modern folk, the band nevertheless have a healthy belief in the importance of lyric, and the need to make their music have a meaning (even if only to themselves!) and a sense beyond mere collective music making. The most important thing however is that it is good to listen to.
