Artist History
Presently in his final year of Mechanical Engineering and Sociology at WVUIT, Mark A. Farley (1979, Charleston West Virginia, United States) began playing drums at age 4, guitar and sax at 12, and added keyboards in high school. As a multi-instrumentalist, Farley began playing in various bands throughout high school and college, primarily with band-mates Will Morgan, Bradley Keenan, and Matt Keiser under the band name Loser. Winning their first competition (and first live gig) under a band name that began as a joke, Loser (earplugs in hand) became well known as a young, loud, experimental live band. Loser stayed around a winner for 3 years, then disbanded when all 4 members began studies at the university level. Farley and Morgan kept in touch during their first two years at WVUIT, playing a few gigs along with bassist John Morgan as a jazz\classical\instrumental trio. While at WVUIT, Farley and Will Morgan ventured off to the Walt Disney World Resort, Orlando Florida as interns. It was during this time between internship and study (1999-2002) that Farley began piecing together his interests in engineering and music. Time, school, and calculus permitting, he constructed a small home studio, and has composed and copyrighted original material. At present you'll find Mark in a lab, studying, teaching, walking the dog, or working on his next album. |
