Artist description
Andrew Kasab is a skilled singer, songwriter, guitar, and bass player. Whether playing in a band or on the street, he always stands out as a consummate showman and musician. "It's[business of music] a lot more work than most people think...(Fox 43 interview/Harrisburg, PA, Feb. 2003)" and Andrew works hard to get any venue entertained. His style is an eclectic mix of funk, punk, rock, folk and blues.
He has played at over thirty venues along the East Coast both as a solo artist and a band member. He has worked with the groups: "Spiral Architect", "Humblebee", "Desolation Row", "MadTabber", "Wyred", "Friejam", "Lunar Blues", "Bill Speers", and "Another Lincoln".
Day job? Andrew's daytime life has always been an addition to his skills; working as a sound technician or co-managing a music store has given great insight into the finesse, business, and art of music.
Instruments? Andrew is fluid on the guitar and bass, while keeping a keen eye on anything else that would add some spice into the mixture. This has allowed him the ability to learn from many sides and create different textures.
As a child growing up in a musical family, his vocal and instrumental talent emerged through the help and encouragement of his family.
"I scratched up Mom's guitar pretty good trying to learn to play the thing...oops(Interview/ NC cable/1994)"
(She forgave him)
His experiences have been anything short of normal, whether playing for a top-level general from Uraguay, a community pool party, or McDonald's at Christmas time (never again...), life is full of surprises.
