Artist History Prettie Tone aka Pt The Platinum Child (Pt being platinum on the periodic table, as in valuable element to the game, not jewelry!) explodes on to the scene with masterful delivery, unmatched lyricism and street savvy! Born and raised on the streets of Chicago s Southside, Pt managed to avoid death, incarceration, the lure of fast money in the drug game and rank in organized crime! Focusing on rhymes and music instead of becoming just another statistic! Pt was introduced to Rap early and at the tender age of 6, disappeared into his basement with the goal of becoming an MC, but not just any MC, the best MC! Ten years later in July of 2000, Prettie Tone re-emerged from the basement to place 2nd (out of 180 MCs) The Source Magazines Unsigned Hype MC Battle Tour, at the infamous Georges Music Room in Chicago, telling the crowd, I didnt tell a soul/ I just set a goal/ And now its no longer in my control! Tone was only 16 years old! The young god from Chicago was so nice that The Source Magazine judges asked him to travel to the next few cities to perform with the tour. But Tone had bigger plans and decided to stay behind and begin working on hisalbum. His performance at the MC Battle had earned him his choice of tracks from local producers, access to recording studios and most of all his respect! Prettie Tone quit the high school basketball team and graduated a semester early (w/ a 3.5 GPA) to team up with local producers Spike and Jamahl of Bobby Drake Productions (produced tracks for Missy Elliott, P. Prettie Tone teamed up with Chicago Hip-Hop icons Twilite tone (produced tracks for Common) to create a mixtape promo featuring Pt rhyming over 7 of Timbalands hottest tracks, DJ Pharris (Chicago s Power 92.3) on MVP Part 2 Mix CD and Cash Money Records Presents Mikkey UnKrowned City Mix CD! Although his career has just begun, Pt displays the characteristics and skills of a Hip-Hop heavyweight. His charisma and skillful delivery are reminiscent of Nas and Jay-Z! A true lyricist, delivering incredibly real, third person narration of street stories, clever metaphors and similes, fueled by raw energy and confidence. Prettie Tone lives up to his name and reputation with the ladies on Make Me More and Aint No Tellin (Part 2). But dont let the pretty face fool you, joints like T.H.U.Gs, Itz Real and Str8 Gangsta will quickly bring you back to reality!
