Minglewood is a musical hybrid, a four-member band with one foot steeped in the musical roots of blues and country and the other knee-deep in rock. Artist History
Minglewood has sold more than 350,000 records in Canada alone and has received three gold records, two Juno nominations, two Canadian Country Music nominations, Lifetime Achievement Award from the East Coast Music Association, bestowed with a honorary Doctorate degree from University College of Cape Breton and Canadian Country Music Songwriter of the Year award for Me and The Boys. CBC 's National radio show, Saturday Night Blues, recently awarded Matt the "Great Canadian Blues Award". The award, which was voted on by the listeners, honored Matt for his lifetime contribution to the blues. A readers poll of "The Twenty Best Atlantic Canada Albums of All Time" in the Halifax Coast placed both Minglewood’s latest release 'Drivin' Wheel' and the 'Minglewood Red Album' in the top twenty! This year the ‘East Coast Music Awards’ nominated Matt for ‘Entertainer of The Year’ and ‘Male Artist of The Year’. |
