Artist History
Blue River is still an infant, born in Feburary of 2002.
It's members have played with the likes of Ralph Stanley, Mountain heart,
Doyle Lawson, IIIrd Tyme Out, and many more.
The band actually formed at Hoofers Gospel Barn in LaGrange, Ga.
where Brett Martin, banjo player for the band, has the house band.
Brett Martin, and Carl Towns had performed together in another band
and had been wanting to play together regularly for a long time.
So when Brett's regular group of musicians couldn't play the gig, Brett invited Carl Towns of Cherokee Wind
and Charles Mann down to perform with him as the house band. Brett happened to ask Andrew Darby
to play guitar for him that time, and the guys hit it off at the beginning.
After two practices, they noticed how quickly everything was coming together
and knew it was something that could go somewhere. So they officially formed, Blue River
in Brett's home during that second practice. The music on MP3 at the
moment is from that second practice. Strong and flowing like a
clear mountain stream.
