Artist History
Almost Famous' arrival in the music scene taps into witty pop ditties with topical lyrics. The group's debut CD (The Upstairs Chronicles) has a wide range of diversity powered by Ben Diessel's catchy lyrics and dazzling guitar work, David Yu's astounding effects and flying leaps, and swaying palm tree rhythms of bass player Charlie Naebeck. Many types of music have ingrained themselves into the band's consciousness. Songs like "Napster" and "Pins & Needles" are a tribute to punk rock, while softer songs like "Planets" and "Inspiration" drifts in your mind's eye and chases clouds in your dreams. In short, Almost Famous churns out positivity, creativeness, and smooth yet heart pounding music for your listening pleasure.
Almost Famous' roots go back to late 2000 in Ann Arbor, Michigan. That's when Yu and Naebeck spoke with each other through a website for musicians. Yu, originally from Pennsylvania, was attending the University of Michigan at the time. In early 2001 they decided to get together and jam. Yu brought his friend and classmate Diessel along for the ride. Diessel, originally from Illinois, was also attending the University of Michigan. The three endlessly worked together to intertwine all of their different backgrounds to create Almost Famous today.
Almost Famous has one album, The Upstairs Chronicles, released on November 6, 2002 |
