    Artist description
A journey thru the ancient musical past, blended with the modern elements of electronic music. Rasika is a diverse musical project that utilizes many forms and styles of music from around the world, including Neo-Tribal,Ethereal,Medieval,Archaic,Early Music, Atmospheric/Electronic and General World/Folk Music, and in doing so,create a unique experience for the listener. Their music can often be described as;Teutonic,trance-inducing rhythms combining with hauntingly beautiful melodies that take the listener away to otherworldly escapes. Rasika is one of today's few musical acts that incorporate ancient musical instruments(medieval lute, tanpura, sitar, doumbeks, hammer dulcimer,etc...)with modern electrical musical instruments(synthesizers,samplers,sequencers,etc...). This approach gives Rasika the advantage of being able to perform their wide-ranging styles of music in virtually any live performance scenario, ranging from duo or trio acoustic performances(Renaissance/Medieval Faires, outdoor concerts, private functions) to full band performances in modern nightclub venues. Visually,Rasika's live performances are mystical, candle lit, incense filled oasis's adorned by gypsy minstrels playing glittering instruments, hearkenig of distant lands and times. Artist History
Rasika originated from Paul and Laura's previous Black Industrial/Gothic project-Oracle of Entropy. Frustrated by the commercialism and lack of diversity inherent in today's "underground" music scene, they set out on a new and uncharted musical course, which in time became Rasika.
