Artist description
Fishers of Men started out back in the summer of 1996. The band is now defunct, but its music lives on. The concept for FOM began in the heart and mind of Bryce Daughterty (guitar, vocals). Soon after Andrew Locke (bass guitar, vocals) and Colin Meyer (drums, vocals) joined with Bryce. The uniting of the three was from more of a spiritual identification with each other, rather than a musical one. Eventually, Bryce, Andrew, and Colin found a musical common ground where they could begin writing from. In early 1997 the band added Tammy Locke (saxophone, vocals; Andrew's sister). The four together proved to be a vocal powerhouse consisting of intricate, often unconventional harmonies, with a combined vocal range that gave the band a signature sound. The emphasis of FOM has always been on the spiritual above all else. Its music derived from an intense conviction and belief in Jesus Christ as the only way, the only truth, the only life. This convication is weaved in and out of the lyrics on FOM's debut, independent album. A desire to see and communicate life in its truest sense; in all its pain, all its frustration, and all its beauty, while maintaining a message of hope and peace is the effort the band put forth with "The Renewal". We hope that you like the music, we hope that you listen to it often, but more than that, we hope that this music propels you to look inward, to consider the eternal, and to begin to experience life more abundantly. Peace. |
