Artist description
100% Post-Consumer!!!
fanatics of xerox aren't afraid to wear their influences on their sleeves, but that doesn't mean that every song sounds like someone else.
We are a constantly mutating collective of similarly-minded individuals, who chuck in all our various influences to create something a bit different to the many 'post-rock' acts currently doing the rounds. Our music incorporates a certain degree of improv and free-form, as we believe that the most pure music comes straight from within, and thus we allow ourselves to go a bit loose with regards to interpretating our tracks.
FOX's aim is to become a multi-media experience, using contributions from a number of artistic sources, such as Photography and Film. |

Artist History
Formed around May 2002, and quickly sucking people into the fold, FOX is continously growing. Paul started the ball rolling by placing an ad for experimental musicians in a local record store, stating that he was playing his bass with a screwdriver. That was just asking for trouble. |

Group Members
PAUL - Bass/Tape manipulation/detuned radios
Paul started it all, so if you don't like us, blame him. It's his fault. Honest.
He has been 'playing' bass and guitar for 50 years, and has recently decided that it's easier to play his bass with a cello bow when it's only got two strings.
Paul started a resistance movement when he was 2, and has since taken over several hundred small South American towns in a number of bloodless coups. He enjoys wearing colourful clothes, and with his rasta hair, looks like a gypsy. But a clean one.
He comes from Cornwall, and is made of pasties instead of flesh.
ANDY - violin/guitargh
Andy lives in Long Eaton, which is the Pine Cone Capital of the World.
He spends his days fishing for gnomes in the local canal, and reading Mills and Boon. Andy plays his guitar like the lounge legend he was in a previous life, and has been known to handle a bass like a good woman. He decided to play violin in FOX when he witnessed The Gypsy Kings in Madrid. The sunny climate and jaunty melodies frazzled his sense of decency and now he destroys music in a haunting stylee. Whatever that means.
It's a little known fact that there is 100% bugger-all to do in Long Eaton, so Andy supplaments his time between practises by stealing money from small children in his neighbourhood, and painting old people's faces whilst they're asleep. His favourite symbol is }.
WAYNE - Keys/Samples/Programming
Wayne can't play any instrument properly to save his life, but that didn't stop him joining the unfeasibly cool fanatics of xerox. He listens to a lot of Industrial music, and reckons that every band should sound like a broken tv in a blender.
He used to work in a mine from the age of 6, until he discovered that siamese midget porn was a profitable sideline. Now he owns a chain of dwarf porn stores across the East of England. To avoid the authorites he has called them 'TopShop'.
Wayne is also known as cardboard dead boy, and his solo stuff can be heard here on mp3.com. He has been in a million bands before, but FOX is the first that calls itself 'post-rock', and he's not keen on that tag as too many rubbish bands use it, and hopefully people won't think FOX are on of them.
He comes from Scunthorpe, which isn't funny, no matter what anyone says.
TOM - Geeeetaaarrrr
It is stone cold FACT that Tom has a very hairy face. The other members think that maybe his chin is actually covered in velcro. Tom was born in an ice cream van, and lives in Romsey when he's not at Uni.
In Romsey he runs a fishmongers and sells under-age children to the local harbour master as slave labour. Tom also has a solo project: Lardpony. Hear him at http://lardpony.iuma.com. Unlike Wayne, Tom LOVES jangly indie pop, and can't get enough of it. Once he even queued outside a venue to watch Embrace. His favourite colour is mud, and his shoe size is 13 and a 1/2. Hobbies include: scubadiving, horse riding, chicken-taming and wining and dining.
You can be certain that if there's a party, Tom'll be there, even if you don't know him. He's a terrible gatecrasher and drinks too much punch and prune juice.
Tom used to work for Peter Andre as a body double, prior to his occupation as an archeologist. Least likely turn-on: pink socks.
MATT - gitar
Little is known about Matt, other than he has less hair than Tom (which isn't hard) and that he also plays in a math-rock band. He is the smallest member of FOX (just 23 inches high) and has an obsession with persian rugs.
DAVE - geeetarrrr
Dave is the most mysterious man on the face of Earth. He is only seen outside when it's cloudy, and constantly wears a mask of Cher. Maybe he is actually Cher, who knows?
~~~~ TOM has recently left (Matt and Dave left ages ago) and we now have a new guitarist, ALEX. Here, he tells us a bit about himself.~~~~~~~~~
ALEX: Hello, I'm Alex. I am the newest member of FOX and I play guiatr just like I'm ringing a bell. I have been in a number of bands, usually heavy metal, but not like KISS. KISS are not heavy metal, they are Glam-Rock. Glam-Rock is for girls, I like extreme metal. I have a pierced face. My favourite band is not KISS. My favourite food is hot. |
