Artist description
Formed in March of this year, The Sleaves unleash a breed of rock 'n roll that blends the smart arrangements and harmony rich melodies of the '60s with a heavier power pop sound more relevant to today.
Paul Bertolino, formerly of Persephone's Bees is the miniature frontman who provides piercing, energetic yet soulful vocals. Mike Miller plays guitar as if his life depends on it. Coming on like a cast member from the movie "Over the Edge", his playing is a bit like Slash as a member of the Monkees. Pascal Garneau, formerly of Dixie Star, is the busiest man on a Sleaves stage. He alternates between 6 and 12-string guitars as well as Vox and Rhodes organs, allowing the band to jump genres as they please. Every band has to have "the quiet one" and Nate Alfaro fills that spot in the Sleaves perfectly while sneaking in melodic bass lines to fall in with the loose, yet tight, Don-Brewer-meets-Keith-Moon drumming of the mighty Aaron Nudelman, formerly of Mensclub and Sunless Day as well as a current member of The Jipsters.
Not to be confused with the current crop of "The" bands, The Sleaves' live sets range from saturday morning cartoon Rock (ala Krofft), with bouncy guitar riffs and happy organ, to melancholy sounds rich with layers of vocal harmonies to straight up heavy-duty Rock-N-Roll.
