Artist description
THE QUICKSTEPS -
SKA MADE IN AACHEN, GERMANY
The band "The Quicksteps" was founded at the end of the eighties. Since then they played gigs with SKA- & Reggae-greats like Laurel Aitken, The Hotknives, The Butlers or SKAOS all over Germany.
Hooky melodies, crispy brass-parts, an uncompromising groove and ass-kicking offbeats are their trademarks. Giving the offbeat to some great eighties pop-hits ("Walking on sunshine", "Take on me") is just a small part of their feet-moving repertoire - just SKA.
Their musical roots goes back to the Two-Tone-Movement so that they can be compared to other SKA-Bands like "The Busters", "Toasters" or "Mr. Review" but they managed to create their specific style of their own.
Since the last days of 1999 they have been playing in the current line up. The latest members are a percussion-man and a trombone-player.
