Press Reviews
I have to admit, this is probably my favourite album from Stardumb Records. It's not their typical sound at all. Think The Dwarves meet Zeke meet Motorhead. The music is brilliant - fast, raw and dangerous. The only thing that puts me off the album is the art work on the cover, the title and the lyrics...hahaha, everything but the music I guess. So you gotta be open minded when listening to this as it is truely a good album. If their goal is to offend I think they get it right. Good stuff!
With music of ZEKE and lyrics of a drunken, foreign GG ALLIN, the NERDS of Italy have definitely found their place in the world of scumpunk. They give thanks to the likes of Jeff Clayton(ANTiSEEN),King of Scum, and the rest of the Confederacy of Scum. I guess they're the Italian branch of the Confederacy. Hell, they've even got a small rebel flag on the cover to prove it. When you first look at this CD, you pretty much know what you're in for. It's got a topless punk rock chick laying on the ground covered in blood and the name of the album is a bit disturbing to think about when you're looking at the cover picture. The music is great and fast, the lyrics are a bit cheesy but great in their own scumfuck way, and the pictures are incredibly disturbing. I think they got their message across. So take it from Bim Bim, King Taccio, The Boss, Monkey Motherfucker, and me and go get this record if you're at all into the Scumfuck side of things or just want to piss off the person next to you in line. . . This is a classic!
Maybe accidentally (maybe not), but Nerds invented hardcore garage punk. It's super fast, it's super noisy and super wild garage punk. I have to be honest I needed some time to get used to this sound, but at the end I really like it a lot. This CD is really enjoyable and great to make wild parties. It's definitely not for garage 66 purists - sorry guys, but fuck off - this is 21st century. My favorites are: "Good Looking Dudes" (garage punk with death metal vocal - you can't believe it, but this combination is possible and it sounds great), "Hate '68" - I can also add '66, which is great year, but enough is enough, "Amphetamine High" - my neck hurts from head banging, this is fucking great. This madness goes on for 23 minutes & 41 seconds and after you hear it you'll have nightmares for the rest of your life. This is music for no brains people!!!! IT'S GREAT GREAT GREAT!!!!!! |
