Artist History
FAITHFULL was born of the persistent dream held by two friends, Rui Martins (guitars) and Sérgio Sabino (vocals), united in their passion for music.
After some interrupted projects, Martins decides to keep composing and playing to his own pleasure, first and only purpose of his music. Based in the melodies created by the guitar and with the help of computer resources, music was born to house consume.
From a different path, Sabino (ex-vocalist from "Evidence") meets Martins and, by a happy casualty, has the chance of listening to some of the songs already delineated. Enthusiasm grows and so the dream of taking their music beyond those four walls. Sabino's voice brings a new life to the themes, with a refreshing straight-to-the-gut attitude.
An improvised studio at home records the first demo. 13 songs, from ballads to up-tempo hard rock themes, captured the attention of some record labels and media around the world.
What was once the dream of two friends becomes reality when Sérgio Ramos (drums) and Nuno Ledesma (bass) join the project and the whole band signs with Spanish record label "Vinny Records" (www.vinnyrecords.com), entering "Rec'N'Roll" studio to record the debut album, entitled "Light This City", in March 2003 under the production of Luis Barros, who also played a major role with keyboards.
After licensing agreements for Europe, USA, Asia, Brazil and South America, "Light This City" (special edition) is scheduled to be released first in Japan/Asia by “Marquee-Avalon†on 21st of November 2003, following it a worldwide edition.
FAITHFULL are now preparing a live presentation in date to be announced…
