Artist History Escualo's music is a strange mixture of metal and Latin American folklore. The band was created in 1999 in Santiago of Chile. Escualo starts to compose its music instrumentally (it's just one year latter that they would incorporate a singer) with 2 guitars, bass and drums. In the year 2000 a more stable formation, that lasts 2 years, is achived; it includes: Giancarlo Anziani on guitar, Rodrigo Pardo on drums, Marcelo Villegas on bass and Fernando Reyes on voice and percussion (the other guitar player leaves the band due to differences in the conception of music). In the same year a friend of the band installs a home made studio and, because of a petition of him, Escualo?s first demo is recorded. Although the poor quality of the its sound, this demo helped to promote the musical identity of the music that the band composes (its music mixes rock, metal, Latin American folklore- from South America mainly- and experimental music). In 2001 the single ?Nuevo Ciclo? is recorded with the aim of its radial diffusion and the band's promotion. Apart form including this theme, the demo contains multimedia resource and the other themes of the previous demo in mp3 format. ?Ritual?, produced by the band, is published in 2002 and it's distributed by Virtual Records in South America as the first LP of the band. In (the year) 2003, Escualo prepares an EP with 4 themes and with another vocalist.
