    Artist description
Emmett has been writing music nearly all of his life. He was born in Casper, Wyoming, on September 18, 1963, and first picked up the guitar when he was ten years old. He later taught himself how to play the keyboards. to Late 80s He formed a group when he was in college and gained a reputation as a local celebrity when his records started being played in dance clubs. However, when music began to interfere with his studies, the group disbanded. Nonetheless, he was still often invited to appear as a solo act at various clubs, often singing along with the background tracks of his records. During the 80s, karaoke was practically unheard of! The 1990s The dawn of the 90s brought Emmett to television--first as a writer/director of a TV movie called My Nightfall Reverie. The 74-minute feature was a Christmas fantasy and won a "Best Performance" award from the Public Utilities Commission. Emmett's second foray into television happened because the TV studio that had produced his film asked him to develop another project. This project would come to be called The Emmett Milton Glenn Variety Show. The program featured Emmett singing (albeit, lip-synching) original material, as well as invited guests who also performed music or dance, or acted in skits. Enough material was shot to edit together six episodes. However, after three shows aired, Emmett pulled the plug on the project and did not allow the remaining three episodes to be televised. "The shows turned out really bad," he told a local reporter. "The performers and the acts were good, but the outdated equipment at the studio--like the cameras and the editing equipment--gave the show an overall appearance of poor quality." Year 2000 and Beyond Emmett's first love is--and always has been--writing music. He continued to compose as usual, but this time he began to score his songs. That is, he began to write multipart orchestrations of the songs he wanted to record. Not only did he use his computer to create and play the scores, but he also used his computer to record the vocals. With the advent of the writable CD-ROM, he began passing his songs out to friends and, later, to strangers, whom he would ask to rate the songs on their potential. The response was immediate: "Get these songs published and make a go of it!" The fifteen tracks on this Website are among those he recently recorded. He has followed the advice of his friends and colleagues and has sent some of them to different publishers. He has also applied for membership with BMI
