Artist History
The songs Ronnie sings were heard during his many travels in many countries. Some too long ago to recall by whom but others such as "Donegal Danny" he first heard from Derry Moynihan while "Nancy Whiskey" and "Pretty Boy Floyd" came to him from the singing of Sean O' Brien. "The Parting glass" an 18thcentury ballad, he first heard being sung by Eddie Davis and there have been many's the parting glass since. Ronnie has spent many of his days on boats as a working fisherman, maybe that is where his special love for sea shanties come from. Gigs take him to Switzerland, England and Germany these days but his favourite spots for playing lay around Baltimore (West Cork), Skibbereen and Bantry. He runs a Bed & Breakfast "Fastnet House" in Baltimore, together with his wife Sandra and kids Anna and Luke. |
