Artist description Jon Herington is a guitarist, songwriter, and music producer who has been active on the New York music scene since 1985. His debut album on Pioneer's Glass House records, "The Complete Rhyming Dictionary" was released in 1992 and features eight of his own compositions as well as the brilliant playing of keyboardist Jim Beard, bassist Victor Bailey, drummer Peter Erskine, and percussionist Arto Tuncboyacian. __________The new CD from Jon Herington is called "Like So." It features Jon the guitarist, of course, but the big surprises here are Jon's singing, the songwriting, and the sound of a band that recalls the good old days of 60's rock yet manages to sound fresh and varied in its support of each of the 13 new songs.__________Jon played on Steely Dan's Grammy award winning CD "Two Against Nature," and toured with the band on their 2000 world tour. He is featured on the video and DVD release the touring band made which was originally aired on PBS television as a 90 minute special event.__________In 2001, Jon toured with Boz Scaggs to support his current release, "Dig." Jon will be touring again this summer (2002) with Boz, mostly in the western U.S. __________In addition to Steely Dan and Boz Scaggs, Jon has toured with the Jim Beard group, The Blue Nile, Phoebe Snow, saxophonist Bill Evans, the contemporary jazz superband Chroma, Lucy Kaplansky (of Cry, Cry, Cry), and jazz/blues organ great Jack McDuff._________Jon played guitar in the "house" band along with music director Dave Stewart (of the Eurhythmics) at the (Oct. 2 2001) John Lennon tribute concert televised live on TNT and Fox from Radio City Music Hall in New York City last year. The proceeds of this star-studded event went to 9/11 charities.
