Artist History
In the summer of 1998, Brian and Steve chose to construct a band that would create the most heavy, extreme, and aggressive music that had ever scorched the face of the earth. In September of 1999, they asked Jeff Koretke if he wanted to join the band on guitar. He immediatly accepted, and with a mediocre drummer, they played numerous shows in bars and backyards from the Fall of 1999 to the Spring of 2000. And by the end of that Spring, the drummer was asked to leave to make room for their friend, Claudio Napoli. Since then, GUTROT has continued to perform and write the extreme music they originally set out to create. Sadly, in mid-September of 2002, Jeff and Claudio decided to leave the band. In early December of 2002, Tony Lucas joined GUTROT as their new drummer. After a few months of jamming, the band began to lag and stopped rehearsing for 4 months. In June of 2003, the band received a phone call from Dave Astor, drummer and co-founder of The Locust and Cattle Decapitation. Brian and Steve jumped on the chance of having such a talented and experience drummer as a part of their band. Right away, things began to click, and as a three-piece, GUTROT continues to write new material and awaits the moment where they can start performing again with their brand new material. |
