Artist description
Godboxer is the new band led by ex-Expanding Man lead-singer and songwriter, Aaron Lippert. Imagine Redd Kross If they had idolized the Who instead of the Beatles.
Godboxer benefits from everything Aaron Lippert learned from two records of writing and recording for Sony and Polydor, a song on the Cable Guy soundtrack, and touring the U.S. and Canada in support of such artists as Stone Temple Pilots and Tonic. With hook-laden songs, a powerful voice and a muscular and seasoned band for spectacular delivery, godboxer has in a few short months of playing out garnered critical acclaim and a 2002 Boston Music Awards nomination for Outstanding New Rock Band.
The power plant of the band consists of the incendiary drumming of Mike Levesque (David Bowie, Candy Butchers) and the driving and melodic indie-rock bass of Joe McMahon (Clairvoyants). Coupled with the tasteful Replacements-esque pop guitar sensibilities of Jay Barclay (Miss Fortune) and the heartbreak-informed lead vocal delivery of Aaron Lippert, godboxer is a band to be reckoned with. This is a Rock and Roll band to believe in.
