Artist description Dear Beatlovers, Producers and DJ’s I am an ever learning, aspiring, accomplished and a self promoted “motivated talent” DJ/Producer and Promoter. (I apologize if u get this twice!!) I have been in the electronic music scene since 1992. I have been a club/mobile DJ since 1994. And just recently (1998) I have been experimenting and producing music in the studio utilizing different hardware, software and synthesizers, etc. I am looking to promote other DJ/producers/promoters from anywhere in the world, also inside my region span (Tennessee/North and South Carolina/Virginia/Georgia): USA. BACKGROUND: Born in Savannah GA to a Lakota Indian mother and Irish father Chris got his start in music at a very early age. When he was 5 he began to take piano and drum lessons and continued to do so on and off in school and at home for 9 years. During this time Chris mostly dealt in the classical era and realm. Upon receiving numerous honors, awards and recognition for playing and producing music for live acts in school using keyboards, etc, Chris found his true calling in “electronic music”. This new enlightenment took place as Chris attended his first large underground music event. At this time Chris invested in his first set of turntables and mixer, and from thereafter endlessly collected records for mixing, recording and playing throughout the Southeast US. His love for the atmosphere and the music of this culture made his progression into a professional DJ that much more enjoyable and exciting. After graduation from school Chris moved to VA and attended college (VA Tech) mastering his music and his desire to achieve a name for himself in the underground electronic music community. At this time Chris decided on an artist name for himself, calling himself “OUT OF YA MIND”, which eventually transformed into “AUDIOMIND”. (Feeling that the music gives each person a feeling of an out of body experience with each passing drum roll.) After extensive travel all throughout the Southeast US Audiomind decided to finally make his home base Charlotte NC USA back in 1999. Audiomind’s taste in music varied much over the 90’s going from hard rock to hip-hop to house to trance to breakbeat to DnB. With so much love for so many different styles of music Audiomind could not stick to a single genre while Djing, spinning or listening. Finally in 1998 Audiomind somewhat settled into pounding progressive house/tech trance and the up and coming Nuskool Breaks, dabbing into various other genre’s frequently. Audiomind’s biggest influences throughout the years has to be people such as Richie Hawtin, Scott Henry, Jim Masters, DJ Spun and Rennie Pilgrim, among others, but especially his extremely talented local DJ’s. Audiomind’s current projects include a new CD mix compilation and a new release of 13 original tracks (including remixed songs from 70’s disco, etc) produced by Audiomind and ABA Productions, coming in 2002. Audiomind’s attitude and thoughts surrounding the electronic music scene (as they surround him) focus on the positive vibe, the true expression of art through music, love and dance as well as his desire to leave a lasting impression on anyone he encounters.
