    Artist description
Ether is a guy who loves electronics. In my area, no-one is a keyboardist or drum machine programmer. I also play guitar as well as bass. I do my own vocals. The audio-sampling all depends. The concept of this project follows humans relations and technology. It deals with outer and inner struggles in many degrees, as well as solutions to those problems. There's also some abstract things to expand your mind and relax.

    Artist History
Ether goes back many years in music. Any time I was around a piano, I would always attempt to play it at an early age. I got a Yamaha Keyboard one year for Christmas from my Grandmother. I loved fiddling around with this thing. It made about 25 different instrument sounds that I could choose from. I would sit there trying to play all the songs I could think of by ear, like the theme to the Flintstones, and other everyday things. I then started getting into Music Artists like the Beatles and Micheal Jackson at about age 7. I loved singing along with those songs I'd hear on radio, so much that i would have to record them to a cassette when I heard them, so I could keep singing to the songs. Eventually, I would try and play the songs by ear on my keyboard and sing along. With no Music Theory knowledge at that age, I was just hittin the notes that sounded like the song and sung along. Then, I started exploring these songs further and begged my dad to buy me all these Micheal Jackson albums. The day he brought home Thiller I was so happy. It was a time where I was simply in love with songs like 'Beat-it' and 'Billy Jean'. Sitting down with one of those cheap tape recorders, I would playback these albums, and repeat them all day. I'd get blank tapes and record myself singing these songs. Later, I got into Wierd Al. He made me realize how funny you could be with other peoples songs, as well as your own. I wrote my own parodies and finally started writing my own material. It was kinda fun, even though I kept that kinda stuff to myself, of course. At age 13, I discovered Green Day. They brought me nice melodies, and this harder edge. Being used to Pop and Parody music, I thought this stuff was real heavy rock kinda music. The lyrics in 'Dookie' were all words that spoke in a normal way, with swears and everything. For once I would FULLY understand an artist's point, and I memorized the lyrics of that whole album. Shortly after I would get a little into Bush and Offspring. I was moving to a different town at that point in my life, and actually happy about it. Being a wierdo like me, I used to get 'picked on' in school. (THAT is putting it VERY nicely) If I didn't move that year, I would have snapped and problem have done something NEWS-worthy. This was a great town to move to. Everyone I met in this small place were so friendly and I felt accepted for the most part. In my last year of Junior High School, I started to get into my first REAL heavy metal band, called Metallica. It was explosive music that agreed with how I was starting to feel at that time. Instead of wearing regular sweatshirts or sweatpants, I started wearing jeans more often, and dark, black Metallica T-shirts. Right after I got a VERY short hair cut, I would let my hair grow long. It started to get in my face, which it never did before in my entire life, and I loved it. The best music discovery, however, was Rammstein. I couldn't initally understand anything Rammstein was saying, but for some reason I felt attached like nothing else. They had keyboards, guitars, drums, and a really low vocal style I had never expierenced before. I bought 'Sehnsucht' used at a music store one day. I listened to that album all the way through and loved every song like they were each a hit song. NO ALBUM had ever done that for me until then. Then, the wierdest thing happened. MTV started playing 'Du Hast', a song from Rammstein. I was so excited. My friends heard their song, but it wasn't until I brought that CD over and made them listen to it that they would understand my love for them. They all became instant hardcore fans. After that, so many bands started popping in like Nine Inch Nails, Fear Factory, Tool, etc. I LOVED THEM ALL. At that point, I started listening hard to OLD stuff from Beathoven and such, and even Gregorian Monk Chant. None of my friends really were listening to that kind of thing as openly as I was. (except one of them) I was starting to use this guitar I found in the closet that I never even thought of playing and began strumming whatever I could play by ear. A school course called 'Electronic Music' opened me to REAL Keyboard/Synths and to the REAL world of Electronic Music, sequencing, and recording. I sat at my computer all day and write MIDI files and play them back, all day. When I moved to this town, (Plainville) I met a bunch of kids that already exceled in areas in music that I didn't, and vice-versa. We all bettered ourselves with each others' exploring of this music world, also with high school courses. That one Christmas came freshman year, and I got a REAL expensive, ($700) oh so holy, Roland XP-10 Keyboard. I couldn't believe I actually owned this caliber of a keyboard, and IT WAS IN MY HOUSE! I would run my MIDI files through this keyboard and hear them like never before. At that point, I actually programmed a cover song MIDI file of 'Du Hast' by Rammstein. On my keyboard, it sounded almost like the actual song. With my Roland, I would start making really interesting music over that period of time. (Kinda Pop-like but with heavy guitar mixed in) My fear of singing in front of people (and hating what I sounded like on tape) left me without adding vocals to anything. Eventually I started helping out in different of my friends bands to do keyboard work. After awhile, I just started my own band with no name. My two best friends became involved, and then we included others. We covered songs from Tool and other bands, as well as writing originals. Our first show was at the high school in New Britain. We were all slightly nervous about performing that show, but eventually we got into it. We used a temporary name called 'Lo-Life'. It kinda worked, except that the name was taken. So one day, a member came up with 'Delusions of Grandeur'. The band agreed to that as a name, and so that's what we went by. Over time, I figured out that the name was already taken as well, and that didn't stop them from using it. Conflicts started arising in the band at that point. There was a power struggle going on, and a somewhat lack of cooperation. I had thoughts of leaving the project that I started. One member left that spring. I REALLY wanted to be a lead guitarist, but no-one else could take care of keyboards, so I had to remain keyboardist. I eventually quit late spring because of the conflicts, destroying the band that I started a year prior to my departure. All during my time in the band, I was writing stuff on my own. Since the band didn't give enough slack for my project, I left to persue it. I joined up a couple side-projects at that point for some experience. I'd get to play guitar in one, bass in another, and keyboards in another. My stuff had vocals, and I finally started practicing the songs with my singing. (even with absolute privacy, I wouldn't sing until this point) Over that year, I started developing all those skills on my own, and getting more and more equipment. I gave a name to this project (Something-Number) and a concept. My problem was that my live shows would be limited unless I had other performers play my stuff with me. That's where I got a couple other friends to help with that. They complete this project. I then took MP3.com seriously, and HERE I AM NOW!
