Artist description
Born in 1978, Scott "Fiction" Yoshimura has been practicing the art of music since the age of 10. In the 1990's, Scott Fiction was influenced by some of the finest and talent DJs in the world. Learning more about the art of DJing and the industry science working in record stores and playing in various small venues in the California and Phoenix area, in 1998 Scott Fiction saw goals and priorities lifting him from the hot deserts of Phoenix, Arizona to the booming city of San Francisco. San Francisco, with it's world famous DJ and performance talent has been leading the way in the hip hop styles and jungle rhythm floors. Working at Housewares on Haight Street, Scott had insights and knowledge of some of the key players and promoters in the local scene. It wasn't long before Scott picked up his first DJ residency that included Saturday Night Happy Hour at the Top DJ Bar, Asindee and Element weeklies. Also, while maintaining ground in the SOMA district of SF, the crew Pacific Standard was started along side with fellow DJ J Falcone. The two headed a Friday night venue that saw some of the finest hip hop and jungle talent on the west coast of America. Scott's future plans include finishing a degree at San Francisco State, building on the Pacific Standard reputation and working with other talents while continuing to perfect his skills and expand his discography. |
