Artist description
How do you describe Scar Story? Early reports say this band sounds "huge and cerebral." It's heartfelt indie with a cock rock undertone. It's punchy prog with pop melodies over complicated jazz chords. And all three members of the band have something to say, whether biting into hypocrisy in personal relationships and politics, or launching into satire that brings a smirk with the scar. After all, music is fundamentally a healing process.

Artist History
AUGUST 1, 2002 -- FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Blue Fug Music, a subsidiary of the Dallas-based conglomerate that brought you Squelch's (from Dallas), announces the formation of a new musical brand, "Scar Story."
This heavy 70s-emo trio will be making their first live appearance Saturday, August 10, 9:30pm at Fusion, a club on the corner of Commerce St. and Good Latimer in Dallas.
The new group is comprised of:
Jason English, the former founder, bass player and primary songwriter for Squelch's, a band that played regionally for 4 years and released two albums, "Valium Effort" and "Love is the Problem" under the Blue Fug label. Jason previously scored soundtracks for video games and commercials, and played in other Dallas bands like The Gift, Half Inch Soul and Blattners.
William Kelley, a seasoned jazz guitarist and songwiter with a mastery of progression and form, adds his unique Dinosaur Jr./Built to Spill and acoustic styles to the music. William formerly played in several successful bands in Austin, such as Steve and Trophy Wife.
Joe Moseley, a bombastic Ginger Baker/Keith Moon dervish, rejoins English on drums and background vocals to complete the battery. Joe played in several bands including The Gift and The Blattners (sometimes with Jason) as well as backing up several jazz and blues bands.
