Artist History
In December of 2000 brothers Chris & Mike Dutton met and started jamming with fellow musicians Marlin George and Jean Portes. After a couple of months the band had some solid material, but was missing a second guitarist to round out their sound. Mike contacted his high school friend, Greg Garrison, who loved their songs and immediately quit the band he was in to join the guys leading to the band FOR. After 8 months of writing, playing and recording together the band broke up. Since that time Chris & Mike have continued writing new material and working on getting a new project together. Finding the right people to play with was difficult and although some new songs were being written, getting an actual band together looked pretty bleak. But then in February 2002, Marlin George, the former drummer of FOR moved into Chris' house to rejoin Chris & Mike in their pursuits. After a couple months of jamming at the house and working on new material things were starting to come together again. Then in June 2002, one full year after the demise of FOR, in walks Greg Garrison, former guitarist in FOR. The group jammed one Tuesday night along with added guitarist John Z. and something clicked. That night they decided they would get together and record one of the songs that weekend. They set up the house on Riviera Drive that Friday and started recording. Hence the name Riviera Sessions. It was a great experience and the final product ended up better than anyone imagined. The future and members of this group are still uncertain, but one thing that is known is that you WILL hear more from them. |
