Artist description This is a mix of folks accociated with Oceanic based out of Austin Texas and Berlin Germany. We are affiliated with Echo Base, Alpha Rhythm and bands such as Hairy Apes BMX and some of the Groups around the ATX that blend styles to create the kinda music that wont have it's label until many years past.

Music Style Blends of different styles and mediums......ranging from live hard driven jazzish funk to deep heavy mixmash of influences. Kinda stuff that will make thas wiggle and mind vibrate!

Similar Artists I can't think of any we sound like....but there is the live aspect of Roots..Gill Scott Heron is among our mentor status...energy of the Beastie Boys and downright dirtiness of reality!

Artist History Oceainic itself has a long and deep history. Many member changes and years of perserverence have spiced this group with perserverence. There are however many projects involving certain memebers of this group besides just Oceanic. The Fathomer project is an unsigned work in progress by Fathomer himself which is due out when it comes to full fruit and who knows when but there will be songs available soon to download. Keep a lookout for all things from.......Oceanic, Nic Trevino...(Echo base, Alpha Rhythm, Les Afrodelics and more including baselines on the Fathomer Project), William Bates is just a bad mofo when it comes to lyrical styles and deliverence (keep a lookout for him also, Ryan Kristtall Blum has many projects in the works (keyboards and vocals), Rashid Amrani Khaldi (Saxophone) is now a full time father and teacher but will be seen and heard on many songs coming from Oceanic. Chistopher Head aka..Fathomer aka...Confluence...can be seen and heard around Austin at many differet spoken word events and on several projects including Oceanic, Fathomer and the upcoming Confluence project....keeep a lookout. Deke Fohoven is an entity of constant compassion and forsight. His lyrics and vocal delivery are all about change, socially and mentally.

Press Reviews Oceanic has been a mainstay ay several Austin venues and has also played at many of the larger live venues accossiated with live music in Austin. They have gained a modest following here in ATX and have done a promotional tour in Europe stating with an unplanned and unforseen trip to London where they scoured the local scene and stumbled up Buckingham Palace with no intentions of doing so Which was quite a story from what I here. There are plans for a tour Then the journey took five young men through a large pasrt of western Europe where they found pieces of themselves and probably got rip of pieces as well. There was also a stay in Prague which from speaking with the boys was flavored with the reality of nitelife and absinth so the story of this trip is still, lets just say unclear.......Either way these are not world weary men.
