About Poplar:
Poplar has been a fan of hip-hop and rap since way
back in the days of Run-Dmc, Grandmaster Flash,
and the other old school pioneers of the past.
His being brought up in the "projects" of Shalimar,
Fl and having an ear for hip-hop music at a very
young age led to his penning of rhymes before he
could spell the words properly. As time moved on
he was involved in many bands and projects (mostly
metal and rock), none ever giving him the satisfaction
of true hip-hop creativity and freedom. Although
he will flow new and old school styles he has no
desire to follow trends or change up his style to
fit in with what the major labels are calling
"hot" and he has earned much respect from his
peers for this.
Railroad, a very versatile musician, has also been in several bands over the years ranging from country and southern rock to metal and "rap-core". He was not a fan of early rap artists but began to feel the flow when the south got off the bass attack and rose again. He is not a rapper, he is a vocalist, but Outkast and Mystikal influence him. He has also been known to ride out to Warren G. and D-12. Some of his previous projects include the Alice In Chainsesq "Hog Head Cheese", the southern rock outfit "Gain" and the Nu-metal group, "Burnt".

Press Reviews
Industry Review of Memories of Yesterday
Category IRB Review Score
Music:
I think the musical ideas represented in this track are very strong. I like the chord changes, and the nuances in the track are strong. 8
Lyrics:
I think the lyrics are really strong and the flows and the hook melody feel very contemporary. I don't have an issue with the lyrics. 7
Arrangement & Production:
"Remember When" is just as strong of a hook as "Memories Of Yesterday." In fact, I thought "Remember" was the hook, but it works well as a pre-chorus here. The arrangement is good. 7
Lead Vocal:
I'm feeling the emotion from the vocalists, mostly from the verse raps The singing is ok, not as original or as strong as the rappers. 7
Musicianship:
I think that the production direction on this track is very strong. I like all of the ideas I heard here, they just need to be mixed better. 8
Originality:
This is one of the better rap demo's I've heard in a while, because you guys seem to posess all the right elements, good track guys, good rap and good hooks. 7
Marketability:
You've got a solid hip-hop record on your hands. Blow this up in your part of Florida, and spread it around to other clubs, mix shows, and mix tape guys. 5
