Artist History
In the winter of 1998, Trenix, aka Adam Thomas Lane, was exposed to trance for the first time while flipping through radio stations. Adam had grown such a passion for trance music, that he searched high and low for varieties of trance mp3's on the internet. Eventually he convinced himself that he had to learn to spin records because he loved the music so much.
He began performing under the alias "Wonderland", but changed it soon after the criticism from people that thought he was a happy hardcore deejay. He learned the basics of deejaying on a friend's pair of technic turntables, and grew out of his shell quickly to purchase his own turntables, a pair of Stanton STR8-60's. The first 12" track that Adam had purchased, was a classic by ATB, aka André Tanneberger, titled "Don't Stop" on Radikal Records. From there he built his collection of hundreds of records in all genres, consisting mainly of banging trance anthems.
Adam played at many house parties and birthdays, but wasn't satisfied with the crowds he was playing for because they didn't appreciate the music as much as he did. Convinced to promote himself as a deejay, he coordinated his first real party at a local club in Sacramento, CA (United States). The party didn't turn out the way he had planned and he lost a lot of money, but the connections he had made that night at his party were priceless. Since his performances, promoters have been trying to get in touch with Adam to play at their parties.
After deejaying for 6 months, Adam came across a program called Techno Ejay and decided to learn how to produce the music that he loved so much. His music sounded pretty basic, as all beginning producers sounded, but he was never satisfied with the limitations the program had put on him. He later upgraded to a combination of programs and hardware to further exercise his love for writing and producing music. Adam is now producing highly advanced trance singles and remixes in a few different recording studios, including a small one of his own. Adam hopes to eventually sign with a major trance label to release some tracks and head out on a world tour to promote his music. |
