    Artist History
    j. hiram boggs comes from the mosquito infested depths of the southeast. inspired by a talk over coffee @ 3 am one morning, he set out for the west coast eventualy landing his feet in seattle, wa. after forming and belonging to various bands he decided to test the waters of going solo. this proved well for him, for it challenged him to make up for the lack of other instruments. vocals grow stronger melodies become stronger, and songwriting also becomes stronger. in early 2001, j. hiram got together with former bandmate jeremy charbonneau to play drums on some demo recordings. adding bass and other guitar parts, he finally got to see the full vision of extra instrumentation for his songs. with this he decided that he needed to record his material for real, and put a band together for live shows. in comes satisfaction. a line-up j. hiram put together consisting of jeremy on drums (later to be replaced by john plesinger), tony ignacio on bass, charlie walsch on trumpet, and bj montoya on violin. this line-up that also has a couple of vocalists amongst them, proved to be exactly what he needed for his planned recording. the recording, entitled "crude stew" e.p., is a five song debut layered with soundscapes of trumpet, violin, guitar and vocal melodies; set on a solid foundation of bass and drums, it provides a tremendous canvas for j. hiram's, at times, haunting lyrics.
