Artist History Exploding onto the San Diego music scene this year, Tubby is a combination of some of the best musicians the town has to offer. Their killer combination of funk, soul blues and rock has amazed audiences all along the coast. With a blend of infectious originals and killer renditions of songs by James Brown, P Funk, Stevie Wonder and Jimi Hendrix, Tubby is a hit with a wide range of demographics. The individual members of Tubby already pull a dedicated fan base of hard-drinking, dancing bodies, and more join the following daily. The band is fronted by singer/guitarist Dane Scott (Smooth Move, G Funk), who lends his powerful funk- and soul-styled vocals and commanding stage presence. Sharing the spotlight is Spanish saxophonist Fermin Revero (Beinancional, G Funk), whose ripping melodic stylings have been heard throughout the US and Europe. Keyboardist Neil MacPherson (Opposition Party) uses his multiple instruments to lay down a nasty funk groove with the help of bassist Matt Hanafin (The Excrements), a combination of wild stage antics and powerful low end. Last but certainly not least, driving the whole train with funk attitude to spare is drummer and mad scientist Brendan Concannon. This is a band that’s ready to work, and knows how to handle a crowd, take a listen and join the following!
