Artist History
In December 2001, Singer / Songwriter, Cary Ciesielski (The Plague Dogs, Little Dickens, Obnoxious Child), received a phone call from an old friend. John Carr (Rapid Fire) had played guitar with him a couple of years earlier in a project that was destined to never leave the basement.
Drummer, Bruce Predy (ZomAa, Ambrose) and John Carr had been getting together occasionally to hammer out their chops. Eventually, it was decided that it may be time to add another lead voice, and complete the rhythm section. John Carr knew Ciesielski could fill both jobs if necessary.
Meanwhile, Ciesielski had been performing solo to keep his chops up, and was craving a chance to start a new band.
By spring 2002, with a fairly diverse list of material, John Carr, Bruce, and Ciesielski only needed a name to take the new project on stage.
So their names were thrown into a keg. John Carr, Bruce, and Ciesielski became Johnny Bruski. The Keg would not allow them to keep the Carr.
And so as 2002 progressed, Johnny Bruski became a more powerful act than even they expected. John Carr, and Ciesielski had worked through some original ideas in the past, and decided now might be a good time to try again.
Bruce was up for the challenge. All of his Jam Band instincts became the backbone that brings Ciesielski folk pop melody and John Carr raw energy together.
A bit of a human jukebox, bruski was a hit with a variety of crowds early on. Johnny Bruski is now a hot new original act, with enough variety in their arsenal to keep a crowd in almost any room.
