Artist History
2WEAK exist since 1996. The name derives from a play upon words. The four songs on the first cd were in fact composed in two weeks. Two Weeks became 2WEAK because of the interesting meaning of the word "weak".
What kind of music do we play? I don't know...In former times we were clearly involved with Californian hardcore in fatwreck style. Some songs were very fast and angry. But we already did our best to create an articulate guitars wall. Then came emocore...Sunny Day Real Estate, Texas Is The Reason, Sense Field, Mineral and so on. Many live shows all over Italy (Aina, Capitol City Dusters, Groovie Ghoulies) gave the band further cohesion and strength. We are now actually trying to find our own style. Voice melodies floating on a Jawbox/Shiner inspired noise. |

Press Reviews
"Here's some solid emo/indie rock from Italy. The writing is pretty cool, it's got a unique flare to it with some
moderately technical (though slower than one might expect from the term "technical") picking patterns
that might otherwise sound like metal riffs were it not for the overall atmosphere of the songs, which are pretty
catchy and only lightly heavy. The vocals are also cool, because the guitarist sings, but they have a female
backing vocalist who adds some beautiful harmonies and textures to an already strong vocal performance,
making the hooks even more memorable and powerful. Some of the writing is typical, with simple chord
progressions that lean towards a pop punk direction and a lot of layered harmonies and lead lines, etc. But all of
the compositions are pretty moving and energetic" (AVERSIONLINE.COM) |
