Artist History
Destro began in May of 1997 when Chip (guitar), Roy (bass) and
Ariel (guitar) wanted to start a band, playing a style that had been
long forgotten in South Florida. Traditional fast hardcore. The band
started out in May of 97 with a lineup that included Manny on vacals
Ully on drums. At the time we just wanted to play fast hardcore in the
vein of some of our favorite bands such as Minor Threat and Gorilla
Biscuits. We recored a demo and started playing locally. Eventually
Manny and Ully grew apart from us and we're replaced by longtime frienda
and drummer Julio and Kenn on vocals. At this point was when we decided
that we were going to announce that Destro was and is a straight edge band at
a time when it was not cool to be straight edge. So 2 albums, numerous tours,
and no lineup changes later, Destro is coming to an end due to personal reasons.
The members are all still straight edge and still fell very strongly about it but
we cannot conintue as a band. Offered here are select tracks from our 2 records and
coming soon the tracks that we are recording for our final EP which will only be
available at our last show. We thank everyone who has ever helped us out, given a
place for us to stay, and opened their hearts to 5 guys on the road. Thank you from
the bottom of our hearts.
