Artist History
From his early years as a singer in his church’s children’s choir, to now performing, writing and recording exceptional adult-contemporary, pop-rock, Tony Fioravanti has devoted himself to the art of singing and writing songs. His thoughtful lyrics, melodies and vocal styling convey all of his spirit.
At the age of sixteen, Tony began studying piano and found himself influenced mostly by the prominent “glam metal” groups of the 80’s along with the soulful sounds that came from his very own hometown of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was especially inspired by the unmistakably unique and dynamic voice of Daryl Hall, another Philly native.
Tony continued his piano (eventually guitar) studies along with disciplined vocal coaching from some of the area’s top instructors. Tony knew it was time to take his talent to the next level. He began fronting several local bands singing cover material. His diverse singing style proved to be a valuable asset to cover bands. When Tony sings a soft ballad, the qualities of Bryan Adams and Jack Wagner come to mind. But when it is time to rock, Tony knows how to rock. This is when you hear the influences of Robert Plant and David Coverdale.
Tony wasn’t satisfied singing cover material. In 1990, through searching the local “musicians grapevine”, Tony teamed up with local producer and songwriter, Anthony Newett. Newett saw potential in Tony, but felt that his voice was best suited for a unique brand of material. This is when the collaboration began. Through this creative relationship, Newett has provided the platform to fully showcase Tony’s increasingly powerful and expressive vocal performances.
The end result is an impressive collection of songs. Tony’s intentions are to take these songs out of the studio and on to the road. He believes that his strong lyrical messages and melodic form of rock is the escape from the reality of life that most young people need today.
