Artist History The Blackwood formed in early 2002 in North Texas. Anger, disgust, and sorrow best describe the powerful alternative band with expressive vocals, and melodically heavy music. The Blackwood appearance is merely a shadow of what the band is all about. "One thing people don't understand about is the way we sound, we can't really be compared truthfully to any band," says guitarist Eric. Vocalist Ian Avery adds, "And the groups we ARE compared with are ones we hate... so maybe we hate our own sound." The whole band merged from different styles of music ranging from thrash metal, grundge rock, punk, jazz fusion, and even rapcore. The Blackwood calls it their little experiment.
