Artist description
one man with way too much technology and inner turmoil on his hands! the life-affirming and medula-firming soundtracks of a life in transition. the works are baked, folded, spindled and mutilated at sir cataldi's home studio, named appropriately enough, the spaghetti eastern music co. cataldi took these radical steps because guitars, and solo guitarists, just don't get the respect they deserve, or push the limits that need to be pushed. watch for the marinara maestro and his burbling gear at hit-and-run gigs in the NYC area. |

Artist History
spaghetti eastern music is a solo project of nyc-based guitarist/keyboardist sal cataldi. works from other cataldi-led configurations can be found at mp3 sites for the hari karaoke trio of doom and collector. all music is created with jackson and fender ronzoni-caster guitars, yamaha and takamine acoustics, a korg triton (the e-z bake organ!) & its in-house sequencer and a shitload of low-tech stomp boxes gathered over the course of aimless years of yodelling. cataldi can now be seen performing these tracks live in the nyc area. |

Press Reviews
Cataldi's guitar work has garnered lots of nice positive adjectivia for his playing in former bands. New plaudits are in the works, but feast on these nuggets of gaga...
"He's the hippy guitarist playing to another dimension" - John Swenson, East Coast Rocker/Rolling Stone...
"A stimulating soloist" - The NY Press...
"Truly excellent" - The Village Voice...
"Cataldi's approach to his instrument provides an extremely entertaining listening experience. Cataldi is well versed in jazz phrasing and some of his chording has a decidedly McCoy Tyner-like color (transposed to guitar)" - Music Paper...
"A jazz virtuoso without the need to prove it." - The Aquarian Weekly...
