Artist description
Captivating modern rock. Yeah, that's it. That's the best way to describe the music of Semidivine. Captivating because the music pulls you in. It makes you want to sing along. It has infectious melodies created to replay in your head over and over again. Modern because the sound is cutting-edge. It's innovative and original. And rock because it has attitude. The music is edgy, driving. And yet, it remains beautifully tasteful. It is that combination sets the band apart. It keeps the music from becoming mundane, and the songs from all sounding alike. It defines the band.
In a culture where the turn of a dial can bring you any musical genre you wish, Semidivine is a prime representation of blue-collar rock & roll. Music for the masses. They are the sound of a movement; a soundtrack for change. Amidst the many voices of society, Semidivine's message rings clear - Do something. Make change happen.
'Our goal has always been to make music that stands out', says frontman Nate Edmonds. Adds bassist Rek Mohr, 'We try not to follow a formula, but flow with what we're feeling for each individual song.' And it shows. No two songs sound or feel the same. 'All five band members write….there isn't one or two primary songwriters in this band,' adds guitarist John Pennington. The band feels that this keeps variety and originality in each song. It's an incredible process - five guys contributing their own creative touch to the product. 'When you have so many people involved in the creative process, you can never run out of ideas.'
And Semidivine does stand out. They are different from every other rock band. It's easy to relate to them, yet hard to compare them. They have been praised by fans, critics and club owners alike. It is unanimous - Semidivine is rock music's next big thing.
