Artist History
Mike Poot announced his entrance into the race for mayor of Angier, North Carolina on May 4, 2002 in the early morning hours of a rally held at the Relay For Life event. Although this first campaign event was small, featuring only Mr. Poot, Mr. Fairbottoms and the Mike Poot Dancers, the Mike Poot organization was very successful in making contact with voters. After a brief stall in the campaign, Mr. Poot has received support from Sam Woodrum of SonKissed at Project Graduation and taped his first radio program. Mr. Poot also was able to place a campaign sign by the Mucho Mexico at the intersection of 210 and 55 in Angier, only to have it torn down by a overzealous police officer the next day. |
