    Artist History
In the early nineties in Stockholm, Sweden, Johan and Ville had just started school and had a vision of forming a band. The intention was to play mean greasy rockabilly(!), and the means were coversongs by Eddie Cochran and the Stray Cats amongst others. With the years they became a bit older and by the time they hit the early teens the sound had evolved more into punkrock with a little more attitude, and they needed a bassplayer for a local gig. That's when they picked up Micke in the hallway in school, though not knowing him, because word of mouth said he played some mean bass. And the line up was complete. A couple of years went by and during that time they'd played several shows live, changed their bandname to The Knockouts and in general gotten a lot more serious as far as songwriting goes. In the end of 1998 came the inevitable; the first encounter with a recordingstudio. And not really knowing where it would lead, the guys wanted to break new grounds and not do the "normal" demotape, so they set the standard for their level of ambition by recording a seven inch vinylsingle. The session was captured on tape by producer Thomas Skogsberg in Stockholm's Sunlight Studio, as can be heard in the discography section. With the experiences and influences the band had absorbed the result sounded alot more oldschool rock n' roll, which was a real kick when wanting to make the liveshows more dynamic. Since then The Knockouts have recorded a number of demotapes used mostly for promotion. In 2000 all three in the band felt like taking matters in their own hands and thought "F**k it, let's do a real album"! So they returned to Sunlight Studio for a week in July and started working on what came to be the 8-piece album "Skyline Supernova" with engineer Jocke Pettersson. This time they wanted to produce by themselves, and everyone learnt a great deal with the process.
