Artist History
Hello my name is Steve McGregory. First I would like to thank you for stopping by my site and hope you enjoy. I have been a musician for over thirty years. I started playing guitar when I was ten years old and soon after started playing piano. Being from the deep south (Mississippi) music has always been a very important part of my life. As a child I listened to country, bluegrass, rock and roll and southern gospel. I played my first club (juke joint) when I was thirteen years old. From that moment on I knew I was hooked, for that night in that tiny little club in Clarksdale Mississippi I had done something that I loved to do, people enjoyed it and I even got paid for it. That one night has lead me down countless path’s that never would have been possible without music in my life.Artist such as Jerry Lee Lewis, Floyd Kramer and Chet Atkins have been major influences on my music. Through the years I have learned to play several other instruments such as bass guitar, banjo, Steel guitar, fiddle/violin and mandolin. On the songs on my site I played all the instruments that you hear except one song (southern living) it was recorded in Nashville,Tn. Even though I don’t read music I do envy those who do. I have four children who are also musicians and in the music business.I now own and operate a recording studio in northern Mississippi. I am enjoying recording my own music as well as recording for other artist who make their way to my studio. Thank you so much for the opportunity to present my music for you to listen to, for when you listen to one of my songs you are truly listening to a part of me.Thanks and God BlessSteve |
