Artist description
Skip Peri is a young and talented singer/songwriter who hails from the town that made the "Instant Breakfast" famous. Carnation, Washington would seem like an unlikely point of departure for a musician of Skip's ability. His songs are decidedly urban, fusing acoustic melodies with soaring pop vocal lines and, at times, the familiar echo of an old R&B groove. But if you listen closely, you'll hear a hint of his roots in the mix.
Skip's tunes draw upon the familiar themes of love and loss but infuse them with an energy and intensity that is remarkably honest and poignant. His guitar work is both highly rhythmic and dynamic, often shifting in a single song from an elemental and subtly suggestive line to an expansive cascade of sound. He has a powerful singing voice that carries the emotion of his lyrics from a deep and brooding register to a blistering falsetto.
But above all, Skip is really good guy. He's not interested in pop superstardom or world domination. He just wants to play out and have fun, and to make sure that his audience does too.
