Artist description
I am a self-produced songwriter from Chicago who loves to combine natural timbres of instruments with electronic synthesis in a quasi-pop format. I build music off raw drum sounds and guitars, and blend them with various organs, electric piano, wurlitzer, and monophonic synthesized sounds. I love genius melody, thick vocals, brilliant and diverse orchestrations, and solid (story-telling) song structure...... all of which I attempt to exemplify in my music. There isn't an instrument out there that I would not use in my writing. I try to keep my music unpredictable and original, but not out of any listener's reach of appreciation. |

Artist History
I started out with a futile attempt at a band, called "Mental Floss". I realized the only way to get my point across to an audience, was to find other musicians that I can relate to. So far, I have found 3 of them. So I now have assembled an amazing band for shows to back the solo work I have recorded recently. Keeping the legacy in tact, I have named the live act, "jsquared and the Mental Floss Group", which is actually just a trio until I find other willing and able participants. I have 2 albums that I sell at shows, and a special internet CD that you can purchase right here at mp3.com!! |
