The groups material is often a unique combination of traditional jazz harmony coupled with more contemporary rhythmic elements. We have a very unique D.A.M. CD for sale! We have re-released our 1st album IN SOME OTHER WORLD (1995) in its entirety (plus two bonus cuts) exclusively at this mp3 website! Pick up a copy today! If you would like to purchase our second CD - SOULMATES (1999), please visit our website - WWW.BRI ANGORRELL.COM! SOULMATES has a total of 12 tunes that range in style from smooth jazz to funk-fortified jazz fusion with an attitude! The Jazz Company's guitarist Shane Conaway notably wrote two of the songs on this album that are reminiscent of Pat Met heny! Gorrell wrote seven of the songs himself, co-wrote one tune with Eric Leonard and also co-wrote one tune with his wife Mickey. Brian's friend Adam Levine contributed the funky Tower-Of-Power inspired tune "Cindy Lee". We also now have songs from our third CD "In This Swing Of Christmas" available on our mp3 page as well. Stay tuned for new material online in 2002!! |

Press Reviews
You can tell who Brian Gorrell is influenced by before you take a look at the listing on his MP3 page. David Sanborn was the first name that came up for me while taking in this fine CD. He certainly is able to play on the same level as his peers and influ ences. Gorrell can get down and funky or take the smooth and mellow exit off the jazz highway. He is equally adept at covering all the aspects of the jazz genre. It's all done very tastefully with style and purposefulness. This recording is a model of co nsistency. The sonics, recording quality and song selection are exemplary. Brian Gorrell choose a good title for his album. He seems to be soulmates with his music and instrument. When listening to music with such quality and depth, it seems as though th e artist becomes one with the instrument they use to make those sweet sounds. Relax and enjoy some great jazz saxophone. -MuzikMan/February, 17, 2000. Check out this reviewer's website:WWW.MUZIKMAN.COM !!u |
