Artist History
Brent Bowers was aged 19, working his way through Mortuary school when fellow embalmer, Duane Butner, turned him onto the Beatles. He'd just taken up guitar some months before and was just begining to look for tunes he could play. The Beatles really lite a fire in Brent to want to build his skill as a player and learn to write songs of his own.
His career as a mortician advanced bringing him to the forefront of Restorative Art. After only a few years in the feild in United States, he was hired by a Japanese company, International Mortuary Systems to bring both his skill and his knowledge to the shores of Japan.
Brent would spend several years in Japan teaching his technique and embalming. It was here where he was first introduced to the music of Elvis Costello. This was probably Brents most profound musical influence. E.C.s tunes really connected with Brent in a very personal way.
Brent formed a cover band and toured Japan extensively during his years there. Upon returning to the states he found AbsoluteZero and began writing exclusively for the band. Having honed a hard edged bluesy rock style in the orient, it was a natural step to form the band as a 3 peice rock show.
As of 99 AbsoluteZero has been playing in and around the Carolinas for 10 years. The band is currently engaged in a spec recording deal and working for the label interest diligently. |
